Elder Planning Alliance was truly a life saver for our family. When my father became ill in the spring of 2011, he was moved from a hospital to a rehab/nursing home within a matter of weeks. My husband and I live out of state, while dad is a Florida resident. We had no knowledge of what programs were available to care for dad and how to pay for these services. I called Elder Planning Alliance and within a few days, they met with our family, explained to us our options and walked us through the entire process. They handled everything for us, and helped ease the stress we were all feeling during this difficult time. They also continue to periodically follow-up with us. We were extremely pleased with Elder Planning Alliance and would highly recommend the company.

Elder Planning Alliance was a vital part of getting Medicaid for my spouse. They know all the laws and requirements and skillfully and painlessly guided me through all the intricacies of accomplishing this purpose. I’ve had some college education, but I could not have fathomed the process without their help. In the end they provided 154 pages of hard-polished facts to the authorities and it was quickly accepted in the system. I would strongly recommend their service to those confronting this obstacle.

I must say I was skeptical and worried because right at that exact same week a program aired on TV warning of scam companies that take all the money and don’t do the job.  I would like to thank you for your help with the placement of our mother in Valencia Hills. When our family decided that a nursing home was the best place for our mother, we decided on Valencia Hills because of their great reputation. We had no idea how expensive it would be for the care of our mother. After speaking with the staff at Valencia Hills, they recommended you and your company, Elder Planning Alliance. Since we did not know you, I personally contacted approximately 4-5 other professionals. My father and I decided to meet with you because you were the most helpful during our initial phone conversation.

With the high monthly costs associated with the health care needed, our family was very concerned about how to pay for this. My parent’s assets were probably average, but if they were gong to be required to pay these costs, their assets would be completely gone in a year or two.

After meeting with Rick, he assured us that he could help. Rick was extremely professional, very knowledgeable, courteous and answered all of our questions. He gave us a very detailed list of everything that was needed and required to help with the funding for Medicaid assistance. Without Rick’s help, the family was required to pay approximately $5,500.00 per month. With Rick’s help, we were able to get this monthly bill down to approximately $250.00 per month.

I’m not sure what we would have done without Rick’s assistance. He has been a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend Rick to help you with any needs you may have. Our entire family is very grateful for Rick’s help.

Sorting through the financial aspects would have made it impossible for us to make sound decisions and assure the best care for my father and our family.

My husband suffered a stroke that required him to go into a rehabilitation center for long term care. This was devastating for me as I had no family in the area. When the first bill came, I was horrified at the cost. How was I ever going to survive this “financial nightmare”? On the recommendation of a friend, I contacted Elder Planning Alliance and am I glad I did. Rick and his staff were there to handle the entire process for me and to patiently answer all my questions. Elder Planning Alliance was recommended to me by a social worker where my father-in-law was staying. The money for his care was starting to run out. I was very concerned. Rick Schell saved the day. Rick came to my home and explained to me fully the benefits of EPA and how they could help. After that first conversation, I saw a light at the end of the tunnel. Rick and his staff worked tirelessly to get the benefits that my father-in-law deserved. I no longer have to worry about my father-in-law’s care. I would like to share my experience with Elder Planning Alliance. 5 years ago my husband had a stroke and with therapy I was able to keep him at home until June 2008, then I had to put him in a nursing home. I was told I would have to have a trust account set up, I had no clue as the what that involved. I was given a card of someone in Clearwater to go see. After talking to a man there, I was more confused and as I had no family in Florida to help me, I was really upset, where do I go? I happened to see one of Rick Schell’s cards of Elder Planning Alliance. I live in Dunedin, their office is in Trinity but decided to call anyway. I talked to Rick, he said he would come to my home and discuss what I would need to do. I found an angel. He was so kind and considerate. He explained it all to me what papers I would need to bring to their office so they could copy them and get everything started. I ask him why he was being so nice to me, he said “You seem so overwhelmed with it all and I want to help you,” and he did. One of the ladies in his office spent 5 1/2 hours with me coping everything and explaining to me what I needed to do. How wonderful that was. My husband was neglected at the nursing home so I was forced to bring him home in August 2008, under hospice care with private help. I was able to keep him home until February 2009 and had to put him in another nursing home which is a wonderful place I might add. So when I brought my husband home, I had to call Elder Planning Alliance and put a hold on their process. They told me no problem , when I need them again just call and they would proceed, so I called in February 2009 and told them to proceed for me. I had to take updated information to them and that was it. They put everything in motion and everything was finished in about 6 weeks. Everything is set up now and working perfectly. I would highly recommend Elder Planning Alliance to anyone in need of help like I did. They were wonderful to me.

I turned to Elder Planning Alliance for assistance with the care of my parents. I live far from my parents and needed a dependable organization that would provide the services I would give if I lived near my parents. There has been a lot of responsibility put on my shoulders, and I wanted to do the right thing. I was very anxious at first, since my parents need so much care. Elder Planning Alliance, and particularly Janice and Laurie eased my fears away. They went above and beyond my expectations and were alsways there when my parents needed help. One time, my father was rushed to the hospital in the middle of the night. I recently had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Rick Schell. Rick provided me with the least stressful experience EVER since dealing with the nursing home business. The past several months I have been working in circles with the staff of the nursing home where my 90-year old grandmother with Alzheimer’s resides. These past few months have been a nightmare, with a lot of effort put forth and no resolutions provided.  Then in walks Rick, with his smile and comforting tone, and I knew I was in good hands. From the moment we sat down to figure out the complexity of the situation, nothing but smooth sailing followed. Rick worked patiently through my emotions and stress. He worked so diligently from 10:00 AM and throughout the day until we were done at 5:30 that afternoon. Every question I had he found the answer to, always going above and beyond what was asked of him.  

I am not sure that there is enough that can be said about Rick and his staff in New Port Richey, but I thank them from the bottom of my heart.

In May 2004, my mother fell and fractured her pelvis. She was placed in a nursing rehabilitation facility. We were very worried about the expense involved and discussed it with a person at the place. At a very difficult time in our lives when we were trying to deal with the illness of an elderly parent, the last thing we needed was to be thrown into the Medicare/Medicaid/Social Security whirlpool. Our meeting with Rick Schell was the light at the end of the tunnel. I have been P.O.A. and Health Care Surrogate for my Aunt for the past two years. My father had a stroke and asked that I do the same for him and my mother.  By February of this year it was evident that all three would require skilled nursing. We made the move to coincide with Dads discharge from the hospital. 

At both nursing homes I chose, I was offered 2 or 3 Elder Planning brochures. I chose Rick Schell because he was close and I needed help. I would like to thank you for your guidance in how to manage my mothers funds. I felt like all the hard work my mother did in her working years was going to disappear in a short time. I greatly appreciate all the effort and hard work you did to safeguard her funds.   Without your help and knowledge I would not have known what to do. I could hardly believe that after a few meetings together my problems were all taken care of. Now I no longer need to worry about my mothers funds. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your help because without you none of this would have been possible.
